The Gertner Audio® home theater / compact speaker products consist of the Eph289 center channel speaker and the RS100 rear surround (higher power,compact) speakers. Both of these were designed to accommodate most any high quality speaker setup, in a proper home theater layout.
The center channel speaker is the most crucial piece of a complete home theater package. It must accurately reproduce the dialog track, which is where most of the involvement of a home theater system originates.
The model Eph289 is designed to provide the clarity and accuracy typical of its series, with similar tonal characteristics, to make stage transitions flow more naturally. This is especially important among the front speakers, so movements do not cause dramatic sound changes, and you can feel involved in the entertainment.
The model RS100 rear surround speakers are designed to provide a high quality rear channel sound in a proper home theater setup. They are designed to project sound forward and backwards at the same time. This creates an area of sound on either side of the theater, providing much more involvement than a direct radiating point source on each side. They may also be used as a compact, relatively powerful pair of stereo speakers, especially where room fill is more desirable than point focused imaging. They would be exceptionally attractive to college / dorm use!
