Angled Port Technology - Developed by Gertner Audio®, enhances and clarifies bass while allowing freedom in speaker placement. Patented.
Efficiency - When not achieved solely through horn loading, efficiency means less distortion. If the sound is horn loaded, the speaker gains efficiency artificially from "funneling" the sound in the direction it is measured instead of through better signal transfer. model 1596 speakers consist of components that produce extra high efficiency - a tremendous 96 dB.
Frequency Response - model 1596 speakers were developed for listening in the home not the laboratory. The careful choices of components and crossover designs were made to attain a consistently smooth frequency response. The 30 - 20,000 Hz response of the model 1596 is prepared for accurate reproduction of demanding recordings.
Dynamic Headroom - These speakers were designed for excellent excursion and quick response to provide realism in sound reproduction. As the volume increases, the accuracy of response is maintained without the typical effects of compression. The model 1596 possesses the ability to handle extra power for strong performances and long playing duration. Up to 150 watts continuous with considerably more maximum!
Sound Stage - The model 1596 driver compliment of a 10 inch woofer and special 1 ½ inch dome upper mid / high frequency driver, provides a clear, full sound, comfortable in most living spaces.
Distortion Control - Vented voice coils and ferrofluid cooled tweeters are used to provide extended play without altering the sound. High grade, large gauge, air core copper coils in our crossover networks provide low saturation and low heat buildup. Use of all polypropylene capacitors produce quick and accurate response. The development of our angled port design assures tighter and less distorted low frequency output. A special anti-resonance tweeter mounting reduces cabinet vibration distortion.
Time Enduring Construction - The enclosures are built with quality joinery to help avoid loosening joints and buzzing. Heavy cast frames reduce speaker frame flex or sagging and minimize magnetic dissipation which destroys sound over time. The speaker drivers are engineered to maintain more precise movement and provide longer lasting durability. Gold plated, solid brass binding posts are used to assure a good connection while virtually eliminating corrosion.
Hand-Crafted Wood Finish - Our cabinets are finished in hand-rubbed, oiled, wood veneer with a protective outer layer. A definite object of beauty to compliment the finest living areas. Cherry finish is standard, with optional finishes available.
Speaker Placement - Gertner Audio’s® angled port technology allows you to place your speakers almost anywhere in the room including practically against the wall, saving you floor space! And since they are beautifully finished on all sides and dimensioned to be as compact as possible, you have the greatest flexibility for your living space. The cabinet measures approximately: 14" w x 14"d x 32" h.
